However, visa requirements depend on your nationality. Citizens from many countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and EU member states, do not need a visa for stays up to 30 days for tourism. The eTicket simply streamlines the entry process. 

If you are from a country that does require a visa to enter the Dominican Republic, you will need to apply for an actual visa through a Dominican consulate or embassy—the eTicket alone will not be sufficient.
